Determining Functions
In order to create a successful design, my partners and I approached this problem by trying to understand the required functionalities of our design. Together, we were able to establish a list of simple primary and secondary functions that revolve around the anatomy of the hand/wrist, carpal tunnel syndrome and its current treatments.
Bill of Materials
In the design of this wrist orthosis, we were limited to a set of limited and low budget materials. The list indicates the materials we used to design our wrist brace.
Conceptual Design
After collecting our set of materials, each of us split off to sketch a conceptual design to meet the functions we listed using those materials. This photo shows my design implemented in the palmar, dorsal, and lateral view of a hand/wrist using it.
